Bull Thar: 11-13 inches that will make the SCI record book. You might see an average of 15-20 Tahr per day with 3 trophy bulls or more on a good day. In March and April bulls are group up and not suitable for a life size mount. May is one of the best hunting months as it is before the snows however for the best life size caps June and July is prime time.
Buck Chamois: 8-10 inch bucks of a good size, many will average a good trophy (SCI) score. You might see an average of 5-15 chamois per hunt with 1-2 bucks or more on a good day.
Hunt Locations: Chamois reside only in the South Island , with good numbers on the west coast of New Zealand , Chamois hunting is conducted on public conservation land and involves a short and spectacular helicopter ride to the mountains. We fly from Twizel or Wanaka and flight times average one hour.
Access: Is by 4x4 vehicle to the hanger
Accommodation: On this remote hunt we occupy the local motel , which is a 15 minute drive form the helicopter base , comfortable private rooms with close local pub and restaurant to dine out for evening meals.
Other Game Animals: You can include other big game animals on this hunt are free range red stags, fallow buck, boar & goat.
